2021 PROGRAMME

2021 marks the 6th Demakijaż – Women’s Film Festival (est. 2016). This year, we are looking closely at our sexuality in its glorious and diverse plurality. We have no cut-and-dried matrices at our disposal or any on-screen representations that we would like to imprint on the minds of our festival audience. To us, sexuality is rather a field of exploration, where films, meetings, concerts, and performative activities come in handy. Some of them were created during the pandemic – sexuality in these weird times is also one of our focuses. We will take you on a journey that will involve explorations and surprises. After all, we still know very little about sexuality that defies patriarchal clichés.

Let’s explore together!

Demakijaż – Women’s Film Festival team

This year’s festival is co-organised by the Homo Faber Association and the Camera Femina Foundation.

The festival is organised thanks to the funding on the part of the Municipality of Lublin as well as in cooperation with the Centre for Culture in Lublin.

The Polish Society of Authors and Composers is a partner of this year’s festival.

The “Caribbean Voices” section is organized in partnership with the Hairouna Film Festival (Saint Vincent).

The organisers would like to acknowledge the generous support and assistance of Salon Syrena, Lula Pink, Rainbow4.Love, and Girls Watch Porn. We are also duly grateful to our student practitioners (Applied Linguistics, Maria Curie Skłodowska University, Lublin) for their much-needed linguistic proficiency and technical expertise.
